FAQs
A quartz watch works by using a battery to make a quartz crystal vibrate. The consistent
vibrations are electronically counted and converted into second pulses, which display the time
precisely and reliably.
Quartz watches are very reliable and have a time deviation of only about ±15 to 20 seconds
per month.
Depending on the model and additional functions (e.g., date, chronograph), the battery life
is typically 2 to 3 years.
Often, the second hand starts to jump in larger increments (e.g., every 2–4 seconds). This
indicates a weak battery and the need for a replacement. Please refer to the respective manual.
We recommend having the battery replaced by a qualified professional. This ensures that the
case is opened correctly and the watch's water resistance is checked.
Most quartz models are water-resistant (3 to 10 ATM). Please refer to the information on the
case back and the respective model description.
Clean the case regularly with a soft cloth and avoid extreme temperatures, strong magnetic
fields, and chemicals. This will ensure your watch remains functional for a long time.
Quartz watches are designed for everyday use. Nevertheless, strong impacts and shocks or
submersion in water (for non-waterproof models) should be avoided.
