FAQs

How accurate are the temperature and humidity measurements?

The accuracy is approximately ± 1 °C for the indoor temperature measurement. Humidity is
measured in the range of 20% to 95% relative humidity. Thus, the Kienzle 1822 weather stations
provide reliable information for everyday use.

How do I install the outdoor sensors correctly?

Open the battery compartment, insert the batteries, and set the channel on the sensor. Then,
select the corresponding channel on the base station using the +/CH buttons. If no connection is
established, a manual search can be started by pressing a button. A detailed instruction manual is
included with every KIENZLE weather station.

What is the range of the external sensors?

The wireless range is up to 100 meters in open areas. Walls, metal surfaces, or other sources of
interference can reduce the range. For best possible reception, the sensor should be positioned
freely and at an elevated location.

Which location should I choose for the outdoor sensor?

Place the sensor in a location protected from direct sunlight and rain, ideally under an awning or
in a shady, north-facing spot. This will ensure the most accurate measurements possible.

How does data transmission work between the sensor and the base station?

The outdoor sensors automatically send their data to the base station every 60-80 seconds
(depending on the channel). The transmission is wireless via radio.

What do the trend arrows for temperature and humidity mean?

An upward arrow indicates an increase (≥ 1 °C or ≥ 3% relative humidity within one hour), and a
downward arrow indicates a corresponding decrease. This allows you to see short-term changes
at a glance.

How does the base station obtain the exact time?

Many models automatically receive the time via the DCF radio signal. If this signal is not receivable
at your location, the time can also be set manually. The same applies to models that do not have
automatic time reception.

When does the weather station warn of frost?

On models with a frost warning function, a flashing snowflake symbol appears on the display
as soon as the outside temperature is between -1°C and +2,9°C.

What safety instructions are important during installation?

Use only suitable batteries and ensure correct polarity. Avoid moisture, extreme temperatures,
or mechanical pressure. For models with a power adapter, use only the included power adapter
to prevent damage.
